International Roundtable | Economy on the Warpath

After the Second World War, the words “never again” became part of our collective memory. And yet, millions of people today live with the consequences of wars they did not choose. War is often discussed through numbers, maps, military strategies, or geopolitical analysis. But behind these frameworks, there are societies, economies, institutions, communities, and everyday lives transformed by violence, uncertainty, inflation, displacement, trade disruption, and social marginalization. At Positive Science, together with Blue Ocean Insight, we believe that researchers should not turn away from these realities. We need to look at war not only as a distant political event, but as a force that reshapes economic systems, social structures, vulnerable communities, and the conditions in which research itself is produced.
