Abstract of the article
1. General Information ARTS is a peer-reviewed, interdisciplinary academic journal dedicated to the study of art and culture as forms of human knowledge and self-expression. The journal welcomes original and unpublished research that contributes to scholarly debate across the humanities and social sciences. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and are subject to editorial screening and peer review. 2. Types of Contributions ARTS accepts the following types of manuscripts: Research Articles (theoretical or empirical) Review Articles (state-of-the-art or critical literature reviews) Methodological Papers Essays and Conceptual Contributions Book or Exhibition Reviews (by invitation or prior agreement with the editors) 3. Originality and Ethics By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that: The work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere. All sources are properly cited and acknowledged. Any potential conflicts of interest are disclosed. The manuscript complies with recognized standards of academic and publication ethics. ARTS follows international ethical guidelines, including those of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics). 4. Manuscript Preparation 4.1 Language Manuscripts may be submitted in English or French. Authors should ensure clarity, academic tone, and linguistic accuracy. 4.2 Length Research Articles: 6,000–9,000 words (including references) Review Articles: up to 8,000 words Essays and Conceptual Papers: 3,000–6,000 words Reviews: 1,000–2,000 words 4.3 Formatting File format: Microsoft Word (.docx) Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt Spacing: 1.5 or double-spaced Margins: Standard (2.5 cm / 1 inch) Pages should be numbered 4.4 Structure Manuscripts should generally include: Title Abstract (150–200 words) Keywords (4–6) Main text References Appendices (if applicable) 5. Citations and References Authors should use a consistent and recognized citation style, such as: APA (7th edition) Chicago (Author-Date or Notes and Bibliography) The selected style must be applied consistently throughout the manuscript. 6. Figures, Tables, and Illustrations All figures and tables must be clearly labeled and referenced in the text. Authors are responsible for securing permission to reproduce copyrighted materials. Images should be submitted in high resolution (minimum 300 dpi for print-quality content). 7. Peer Review Process ARTS operates a transparent and rigorous peer review process: All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Suitable manuscripts are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewer and editorial feedback. The journal encourages constructive dialogue between authors, reviewers, and editors. 8. Open Access and Copyright Upon acceptance, authors are required to sign an Author Agreement assigning economic rights to the Publisher, while retaining their moral rights in accordance with French law. The journal may make published articles available through its website, academic platforms, and indexing services in line with its editorial and access policies. 9. Data Protection Personal data collected during the submission and review process is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and applicable French data protection laws. 10. Submission Process Manuscripts must be submitted via the ARTS online submission system.
